Our Year 8 students recently embarked on an unforgettable journey back in time with a visit to Kryal Castle, where they were immersed in the fascinating world of the medieval era, bringing history to life in the most exciting way!
The day kicked off with a visit to the "Apothecary", where students learnt about ancient remedies and potions, offering them a glimpse into the intriguing practices of medieval medicine. From herbal cures to healing techniques, they explored the remedies that shaped healthcare in centuries past.
Next up was an exploration of "Arms and Armour, where the students got up close and personal with the formidable tools of the knights' trade. They were captivated by the craftsmanship and the strength it took to wield such powerful gear.
One of the highlights of the day was the interactive re-enactment of the famous "Battle of Hastings". Through an engaging presentation, students were able to experience one of history's most significant events, gaining a deeper understanding of the tactics, drama, and historical impact of this legendary battle.
No medieval adventure would be complete without some action, so the students took part in an Archery session, honing their skills with bows and arrows just like medieval warriors.
