This week, our very own Junior School student Esma Sure Yoldas from Year 2B won the "Sounds of Light Talent Quest 2017" and performed her poem "Rohingyan Child" live on stage at the Sounds of Light Concert.
This year, alhamdulillah, a total of 1,000 orphans were sponsored as a result of the Sounds Of Light Concert which takes place across 5 states across Australia each year. The concert is organised by Human Appeal International each year.
EsmaÈËÑýÌìÌÃapp poem is included below and we congratulate her on her win. May Allah reward her and the contributions of Human Appeal in establishing this very inspiring platform for charity.
ROHINGYAN CHILD
I ask my mum why do you cry
She said itÈËÑýÌìÌÃapp for the Rohingyan child
No shoes on their feet – No food to eat
Oh Allah keep safe the Rohingyan child
I'm sad this is bad – how can they hurt them like that
The world has to stop them – From being burnt like that!
Through mud and muck – they run for their lives
Oh Allah keep safe the Rohingyan child.
Then my mum says something: There are things we can do
To help them to safety, to help them get through.
Raise your hands to the skies and make your dua
And send of your wealth to the lands so far
I open up my money box – ThereÈËÑýÌìÌÃapp not a lot there
Oh Allah put blessings in what I can spare – Ya Fattah open doors
so I can get this message through.
So here I am reading my poem to you:
Give generously for the Rohingyan child
Oh Allah keep safe the Rohingyan child.
Ameen
