Focus of the Week: Arriving Late School

Arriving to school on time is important for several reasons. When students arrive on time to school, they are relaxed and ready to learn.

When students arrive late to school, they are rushed and often stressed, which causes them anxiety. Arriving to class late means they also interrupt other students, and the learning for your child and the entire class is disrupted.

Attendance administration is a strict requirement for all schools, and we make every effort to ensure attendance records are kept up to date.

When students arrive late to school, their attendance needs to be updated in our attendance system, so it doesn鈥檛 show the student as being absent for the day.

Our Primary School students officially start each day with assembly. It is important for them to attend, so their day can start with Quran and Dua.

When Primary school students arrive late to school:

  • if assembly has finished (usually by 8:40am), students are to make their way to reception
  • students are to inform reception staff of their name, class, and reason for being late
  • once their details have been noted, the student is to go straight to their classroom
  • they can go direct to assembly if assembly is still going

If students do not stop at the office, the system will automatically mark the student as absent, and a text message will be sent to parents indicating their child is absent/late.

Secondary school students are to log themselves in late on the kiosk on school grounds:

  • in Teams Building
  • in C Block
  • in K Block (coming soon)

We appreciate parents educating their children on the above process, and asking they follow through with these steps every time they arrive late to school.

If students do not follow the above steps, parents will receive a SMS indicating their child is late to school or absent, and the parents are required to call us with an explanation. If no phone call is made to the school after a SMS is sent, the school will call parents until we have received an explanation to update our records with.

When one of your children is absent from school please do one of the following:
