Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships program (4R)

ÈËÑýÌìÌÃapp has been chosen as a lead school in running the Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships program (4R) from Foundation Years to Year 12.

The 4R program has been designed by a team of experts from the Youth Research Centre, Melbourne Graduate school of Education and The University of Melbourne. A lot of time and effort has gone into developing this program in order to advance students’ social, emotional and positive relationship skills for all different age groups.

This is achieved by covering the 8 topics below:

  • Emotional Literacy
  • Personal Strengths
  • Positive Coping Strategies
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Stress Management
  • Help Seeking
  • Gender and Identity
  • Positive Gender Relations

The Junior Years teachers have successfully implemented the program into their classrooms on a weekly basis. This means your child will be working collaboratively with other students in the class on recognising and identifying their emotions, reading body language, understanding how to interact positively with others, identifying ways to care for others and other skills.

In order for students to successfully inherit the key skills being taught via the 4R program, it is imperative that parents reinforce the skills that students have learnt at school.

Attached in the related publication below is a sample activity taken from the Year 1/2 Personal Strengths topic that you can try out with your child at home.
